My favourite place in Luebeck…

In der Bücherei in andere Welten tauchen oder auf der Falkenwiese Fußball spielen? Was ist dein Lieblingsplatz in Lübeck? Diese Frage wurde der Klasse 6d gestellt und dabei kamen die unterschiedlichsten Dinge heraus. Von Sportplätzen bis hin zu Restaurants, Schwimmhallen, Flüssen oder etwas ganz anderem war fast alles dabei. Und dabei gab es sehr viel zu lachen! Die Ergebnisse haben sich aber nicht nur darin unterschieden, über welchen Ort gesprochen wurde, sondern auch in der Art, wie erzählt wurde. Manche haben nur über ihren Lieblingsplatz berichtet, andere haben über mehrere schöne Orte oder über die Geschichte von Lübeck erfahren.  

Jedes Kind sollte sich darüber Gedanken machen, welches der für sie/ihn schönste Ort in Lübeck ist und im Englischunterricht in kleinen Gruppen einen „two minute talk“ darüber halten. Aus jeder Gruppe sollte dann  der/die  Beste vor der Klasse den Vortrag halten. Abschließend wurde abgestimmt, wer den besten Vortrag gehalten hat. 

Hier ist der Gewinnertext von Anna Winters: 

„Im going to give a mini talk about my town. It´s called Luebeck and it´s near Hamburg in the north of Germany. Luebeck is a very old town. There is a lot  you can visit .

Today Luebeck still has two town gates: The Burgtor and the Holstentor. The Holstentor is the symbol of Luebeck. You can go inside. There is a museum. Arround the old town centre there is water. Next to the Holstentor you can rent a boat and go round the old town. You can see many of the sights from the water. It is beautiful. You can see the famous church towers. In the old town there are five churches  and seven towers . Luebeck is famous for them.

I think a tourist should visit Niederegger because the marzipan from Niederegger tastes very good. You can go to the café there and some eat cake – or you could have tasty ice cream! I like that Luebeck has many old buildings. Most of them have a red colour, because they are made of red bricks. Our school is also made of red bricks. It’s an old building with a long tradition. On a summer evening I love to go to the beach for a picnic. My favourite place is Niendorfs pier .

I love to go for a swim or to play Kubb. And so you play it:

1. You play in two teams.
2. You have sticks and blocks of wood.3
3. You throw the sticks and blocks, so that they fall over.
4. What you want to do is knock over the king – but only in the end!
5. The team who knocks over the king wins.

The beach evenings are my favourite time, because there are so many things you can do.

I think Luebeck is worth a visit.“
